What to have ready

None of this is required to get in touch — but having it to hand makes the first conversation far more useful.

  1. The product you want to configure

One product is enough to start. Knowing whether it is a single model with options, a made-to-size product, or something customers assemble from modules changes the answer considerably.

  2. Roughly what customers choose

Materials, colours, dimensions, components, artwork — an approximate list of the options and how many of each. This is what determines complexity far more than the 3D does.

  3. Any rules you already know

Combinations you cannot manufacture, options that only apply above a certain size. These become conditional logic, and they are usually the most valuable thing you bring.

  4. Whether you have 3D models

Simplio3D configures models you supply — GLB, GLTF, FBX, OBJ, STL, DAE. If you do not have them yet, say so; it affects the timeline more than anything else.

  5. Where it needs to end up

A quote request, an order in your Shopify or WooCommerce cart, or a record in an ERP. Each implies a different integration.

Before you get in touch

Yes. You can build it yourself in the editor, hire a partner or freelancer for the 3D and setup, or use the Simplio3D onboarding service where we build the first configurator for you. Many customers start by doing it themselves and bring in help once complexity increases.
